I recently purchased the DCD1007 kit which includes an 8Ah battery for $250. It feels like a solid deal since I mostly have small DIY projects around the house and might need to drill into concrete occasionally—like only once over the next year. I initially wanted the DCD805 because it's smaller and easier to handle, but it's only about $50 cheaper than the DCD1007. For just $50 more, the DCD1007 provides more power and includes the anti-rotation safety feature, which is crucial for me due to a past wrist injury from a drill. I've also considered the DCD806, which has the same anti-rotation feature, but I can only find it as a bare tool for $200. I'm wondering if there are any affordable batteries available for under $50 because I'm a bit reluctant to exceed $250 total when I can get the DCD1007 kit for that price. What do you all think about this?

I spotted the same drill at Lowes for $350, which includes a free 8Ah PowerPack battery. That's a good deal since the battery alone is worth around $100, but it might be more than what you need for your projects.
I've got both the 805 and 1007, and I tend to go with the 805. It's often part of those BOGO deals at the big retailers, so you can get a much better deal if you wait for that. The anti-rotation feature is nice, but I haven't really needed it myself. The 806 is still pretty new, so the deals are limited right now. If you're happy with the 1007, I say stick with it and don't stress over it too much.
I've been looking at the 1007 too, mainly because of the automatic safety feature. It's a pretty big drill, and I don’t often use a hole saw or drill metal, but for those safety features, I think it's worth it if you're concerned about wrist injuries.
