I'm looking for advice on the best types of stakes to use for supporting my tomato plants. I'm considering the string method for trellising but am unsure about the material. I've found some very thin bamboo stakes, but I'm not convinced they'll be sturdy enough. Have any of you had success with thin bamboo, or do you know where I might find thicker options? Alternatively, I'm open to other recommendations for stakes. Thanks in advance!

I've used thin bamboo stakes along with string, and it worked fine for my tomatoes. I also positioned a sturdy trellis behind them for extra support since I get some wind gusts. Everything has held up well so far! Just make sure to secure them well if you live in a windy area!

That's reassuring to hear! I live in a pretty gusty spot too, which makes me a bit nervous about the thin bamboo's support. Do you think they'd hold up without the extra trellis behind?
