What’s the Best Thickness of Polystyrene Insulation for Cutting Plywood?

I'm planning to use my track saw to break down plywood and I'm considering using polystyrene insulation as support. I'm curious about what thickness would be best – is 1 inch sufficient for stability? Also, I found a specific product from Owens Corning that's 1" thick. Do you think this is a good choice?

From my experience, using 2 inches of insulation works best for cutting sheet goods. It provides a sturdier base, making it easier to manage those larger pieces.

Honestly, anything thicker than 1/4 inch should be fine, but I personally prefer using 1 inch. It tends to hold up better over time!

Got it! Sounds like I won't need to go for 2 or 3 inches then. Thanks for the insight!
