How Can I Fix a Door Knob That’s Installed Backwards Without Buying a New One?

So my fiancé and I just moved into our new home, and we discovered something hilarious: the bathroom door knob is installed backward! It locks from the outside instead of the inside, which isn't ideal for when we have guests over. I tried taking the knob off, but it seems more complicated than I thought. Is there any way to fix this without having to buy a new door knob or flipping the door the other way? Thanks for any tips!

Sounds like the previous owners just installed it wrong! You should be able to take it off and flip it around without much trouble. Most door knobs are designed to be reversible, so give it a shot!

What kind of door knob are you working with? Most can just be unscrewed and flipped around. If you’re having trouble, it might be a learning curve since you're new to DIY.

Haha, I was putting the lock pin in the wrong hole! Guess that’s what happens when you’re trying to do stuff at 2 AM!
