I live in Miami and have great light on my balconies, but I mainly grow aroids that thrive in jungle-like conditions with indirect sunlight. I avoid putting my plants on southern exposures, instead opting for spots where they get 1-4 hours of sun either in the morning or evening. I'm wondering if this kind of light counts as 'dappled jungle-like light', or if I should consider using a sunshade to provide more filtered light throughout the day.

Honestly, the best indicator is whether your plants seem happy. If they're thriving, then your lighting setup is likely working for them!
Your situation isn't the same as dappled light. Dappled light comes from sunlight filtering through leaves all day. Your setup offers direct sunlight for a limited time instead. If your aroids are doing well and not getting burned, your method might be fine. But if their leaves seem stressed, trying out sheer curtains or shade cloth could be beneficial.
It might be worth experimenting with some sunshade options. There are different types that block various amounts of sunlight. I found that some of my plants thrive in shade, especially since I deal with afternoon sun here in southeastern Tennessee. I put up a shade cloth, and while it's not the prettiest, it helped my plants a lot.
