What can I use instead of expandable foam to seal leaking outlets in my apartment?

I live in an apartment complex, and I'm having an issue with some outlets leaking condensation due to the heat and A/C. It's not a pipe leak, just condensation that's getting trapped behind the outlet cover. Even though there's installation padding already, the condensation keeps leaking. I'm looking for a way to fix this without making any permanent changes to my apartment, especially since maintenance didn't provide a helpful solution—just replaced the outlet cover.

If the problem persists, keep mentioning it to management. You might want to express that the moisture could lead to mold growth, which is a serious issue. If they don’t act on it, look into local housing regulations that cover safety standards. It’s important to hold them accountable!

You might want to try using foam gaskets that you can place behind your outlet cover. They’re great for preventing drafts and reducing moisture issues. Check this one on Amazon: [link]. Also, if you're considering foam spray, just be cautious to only use it around the box and not inside the outlet itself—no one is likely to notice if you do it carefully!

Are there any specific types of foam I should look for when using it around an outlet?

Definitely document your complaints. Sending an email to management could help establish accountability. If the moisture around the outlets isn't addressed, you could bring it to the attention of your local housing authority—it’s a fire and safety hazard that they need to take seriously!
