I recently had a door installed, and it worked perfectly on the day of the installation—with my very particular handyman dad even giving it a thumbs up. However, I've noticed that the door seems to be sagging now. The deadbolt doesn't close unless I lift up on the handle, which isn't ideal. This is an electric lock, so it's completely useless from the outside at this point. I'm unsure if sagging is a common issue or if something wasn't done right during installation. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like you might need to use longer screws on the top hinge to secure it better. A 3.5 inch screw can often do the trick! This could help pull the door back into alignment and get that deadbolt working again.
As someone who deals with these issues often, I'd recommend checking the screws on the top hinge first. The quality of pre-hung doors has been pretty bad lately; they often come with loose or stripped screws right out of the box. If your screws are spinning or loose, that could be your problem. And yeah, definitely give the installer a call about it!

I was told this isn't a pre-hung door, though. My dad got a new frame since the old threshold didn't fit right. There's a lot of heavy-duty stuff going on with the installation. I'll check the screw length and see what I find out. Should I still call the installer?
