I've been tending to my plot at the local organic community garden for five years, and this year, I've noticed a big issue. My plot is in a corner surrounded by tall grasses, and yesterday, it seems a little groundhog decided to feast on my beet greens, carrot tops, and some spinach. It kept darting out from the grass as I was gardening! I'm looking for ways to keep my veggies safe in this public garden. Any suggestions?

You could also try spreading cayenne pepper around your plants. It’s supposed to deter them, although I’ve heard mixed results on that one. Some swear by it, while others have no luck at all!
I personally would go for a kill trap, but our community garden decided on using live traps instead. Someone takes the groundhog far away after trapping it.
I’ve had success using insect row covers secured to hoops over my plants. It gives them a bit of a barrier against groundhogs. They can sometimes get through if they try hard enough, but usually, they’ll go for unprotected plants instead.
