I've had a passion flower vine growing on my fence for about four years now, and it's thriving! It covers the fence beautifully and attracts tons of bees, although the flowers only stick around for a day. Recently, it's started to produce fruits that resemble small oranges but are much lighter and feel hollow without being so. I'm curious if anyone has tried eating these fruits and when would be the right time to pick and eat them?

I tried passion flower fruits a few years back and let’s just say they ended up in the compost bin! Not my favorite thing to eat. They’re pretty tart, but maybe your homegrown ones will taste better. Good luck if you try them out!
Passion flower fruits are actually small passion fruits! They can be quite sour, even the tropical ones. The key is a long, hot summer; if you're in the UK like me, that might be necessary for them to ripen properly. I’ve eaten a bunch of imported ones and they are definitely a niche taste, so just keep that in mind!
My passion flower's fruits are orange and look quite different from what you find in stores. They’re smaller, but if you pull them apart, they have similar flesh and seeds. The taste is comparable, but the size is definitely a letdown. Mine are still green right now, but the flowering and smell make it worthwhile!

Totally agree! We're finally getting a hot summer and it's been great for all my plants, but I'm still waiting for the rain to help my tomatoes out a bit. Your passion flowers seem to be thriving!
