Is it possible to braid a young Monstera’s stems without using a moss pole?

I have a young Monstera plant that's about 1.5 feet tall, and its stems are quite flexible. I'm not a fan of the look of moss poles and was wondering if I could braid the stems instead. Would this be a good way to create a neat trunk, or could it harm the plant?

Honestly, braiding the stems of a Monstera isn’t a good idea. The leaves could end up facing different directions, which would confuse the plant and might even break or damage them. If you want your Monstera to thrive, it’s best to provide it with some form of support, and there are plenty of options beyond moss poles available. Remember, Monsteras are climbing plants, so a solid structure is important for growth.

Braiding won’t help your Monstera develop a strong trunk. It’ll likely just end up flopping over as it grows. Plus, you’d have a tough time keeping the leaves aligned the way you want them. If your goal is to have a neat-looking plant, I recommend looking into alternative supports that match your aesthetic.
