Is the M18 Chainsaw a Worthwhile Upgrade from Ryobi?

I've been using two Ryobi 40V chainsaws for a couple of years now for some backyard work, but I'm really disappointed with their performance—some of the plastic parts have already broken. I'm considering whether the M18 chainsaw is a good upgrade or if I should just switch to a gas chainsaw instead. What do you think?

Stihl's classic 2-stroke saws are hard to beat, but I really like my Milwaukee 18V 16” chainsaw. It does have some limitations like anti-kickback features and its performance isn’t as robust as gas saws, but it's quiet and feels much lighter to handle—kind of like a toy! Just keep in mind that if you're used to gas saws, the e-saw approach takes some getting used to.

My M18 works all day long with a bar and chain upgrade! It's definitely more efficient once you make that upgrade, but you might want to specify which bar and chain you're thinking about.

Upgrade to what bar and chain?

I've got the M18 chainsaw and a gas-powered Stihl. Both have their pros and cons. If you're just doing a few quick cuts on smaller trees or branches, the M18 is great. But if you're planning a full day of heavy cutting, the gas Stihl is the better option.
