I really can't stand the popcorn texture on the ceiling and walls in my room. I thought painting over it would help, but it turned out splotchy and I'm just ready to get rid of it all. This is my first time tackling a project like this, and I have no idea how to start without making a huge mess. Any advice?

Removing popcorn ceilings can be a bit of a labor-intensive process, but it’s doable! A good method is to lightly mist the ceiling with water using a spray bottle or garden sprayer. Let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes, then use a drywall knife to gently scrape it off. Just be sure to cover your floors and walls with painter's plastic to catch the mess! And don’t forget to check out some YouTube tutorials for visual guidance; they can really help you out.

Yeah, I did my ceiling last year the same way, and it worked pretty well! Just don’t rush it; taking your time makes a big difference.
