I've really come to love it and I'm curious if anyone here has some tips they wish they had known earlier about finding quality wood and maybe cutting down on costs. Facebook Marketplace can be a goldmine for finding local suppliers. I recently got some kiln-dried maple for $6 per board foot, and it's great quality! Just keep an eye out for listings.
Definitely check out your local lumberyards instead of big box stores like Home Depot. Their prices and selection can really vary, so it’s worth the tour! I found one near me that has most hardwoods in longer lengths, which is super useful, even if they are pricier. Also, I’d advise against buying a bunch of scrap wood from furniture makers unless you have a clear plan for it. Just my two cents!
