I found a deal for an M18 XC 6.0 battery, plus a free XC 5.0 battery for $279 CAD, and I'm debating if it's a good purchase. Currently, I'm using HC 3.0 batteries on my trimmer model 2828-20, but they die quickly—usually in under 10 minutes of use and often struggle to perform. Would upgrading to the XC 5.0 or 6.0 batteries provide enough power for longer usage at full speed? Or should I skip this deal and look for a 'high output' M18 battery available for $229 CAD that doesn't include the free battery?

Yeah, the 6.0 HO battery works great with outdoor tools! If you’re not tackling massive areas, it should handle your trimming just fine. I’ve done some trimming around buildings and a fence, and I get plenty of use from a single charge!
I personally love the 6.0 Forge battery in my string trimmer. It works beautifully! I have about 3000 sq ft of grass to edge and haven’t faced any issues. Plus, I use it for blowing afterward without needing to recharge.
The XC 6.0 Forge battery packs a punch with better peak power output than the usual 6.0 high output version. It’s like upgrading from a 3.0 to a 5.0 in terms of performance, so you should expect around 15 minutes of runtime instead of 10—definitely an improvement!
