I'm feeling a bit torn between two garden border styles. On one hand, full-blown spring flower borders look luxurious and vibrant when everything is in bloom. On the other hand, a year-round low-key border could maintain interest throughout all seasons, which my current setup does to some extent. I have plants that flower in spring, summer, and autumn, but honestly, they're not as stunning as I hoped. What do you all think? Is it better to have constant blooms in spring or a more subtle border that lasts all year?

Why not mix both styles? You can definitely layer plants to have blooms throughout the seasons while still having a year-round interest.
Don’t forget about the power of amazing foliage! Choose plants based on growth habits and textures rather than just blooms. Silvery, blue leaves or rich purple and black foliage can keep things interesting even when flowers aren’t around. The blooms are just a bonus!
I totally get the conflict! In my front yard, I prefer a subtle look that holds up throughout the year, but I’ve got a back cut flower garden that I want to be absolutely stunning in spring and summer. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m getting there slowly!
If you’re aiming for constant color, consider mixing in some annuals with your perennials. Remember, those blooms only last a season!

That's really cool! What kind of plants are you including in your garden? Also, when you say 'borders', are you referring to garden beds?
