How Can I Clean Dog Vomit from Unfinished Wood?

Asked By WoodHobbit87 On

I have a piece of unfinished wood that my dog just threw up on. I found some suggestions online about using baking soda, but I'm worried it might damage the wood. What would be the best way to clean this up without ruining the wood? Any tips would be appreciated!

Honestly, just wipe it down with water and let it dry. If the dog is okay, that’s the most important thing! Just keep an eye on the wood and see if you need to do any touch-ups later.

Start by rinsing the area with plain water. Let it dry completely, then you can sand it lightly to see if that helps with any stains. Just remember, it all depends on how much the vomit soaked into the wood. Fingers crossed for you!

That vomit is mostly stomach acid, so the wood might be damaged. You could consider using a wood stain over it later to cover it up. Just a thought!

Right? At least it's just a dog and not something crazy like an alien! Just clean it up and see how it looks.
