I'm planning to lay down peel and stick vinyl flooring and I'm wondering if I can just stick it right onto the existing old flooring or if I need to put down an underlayment first. What do you all recommend?

Make sure to check the specifications of your vinyl tiles regarding the surface prep. It’s always a good practice to follow the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure the right installation. Starting with that can save you some hassle later!
If your old flooring is smooth, level, and secure, you can definitely apply the vinyl directly over it. Just make sure to clean it thoroughly and let it dry for about 24 hours before laying down the new vinyl. But if there are any imperfections in the old floor, I'd suggest using an underlayment. Otherwise, those flaws will show through on your new flooring. Good luck with your project!

thank u so much!
