How to Manage Wood Dust While Woodworking?

Hey everyone! I've recently taken up woodworking in a small shed, and I've noticed that after cutting and sanding, dust ends up everywhere, including on me. I'm worried about what to do during my breaks, like lunch or when I have to drive somewhere, because I'm just spreading the dust all over. I can't go home covered in dust, and bringing lunch from home isn't an option either since my shed is so dusty. Plus, when I do go home, I bring all that dust with me. I'm feeling a bit paranoid about the whole situation and would love to hear how you all handle it!

Using planes and scrapers instead of sandpaper can make a huge difference. That way, you'll get shavings instead of dust. It saves time and money on sandpaper too!

Exactly! Plus, it’s a lot cleaner and gives you better control over your work.

Investing in a long shop coat is really helpful for keeping dust off your clothes. Just make sure to watch those sleeves depending on what tools you're using!

A coverall might be better, especially since they come in short sleeves too!

Definitely wear a mask when using power tools. Try to sand outside when possible, and consider using hand tools for less dust if you're just doing it for fun. For the dust you've got on you, quick solutions include blowing it off with a small blower or keeping some water and towels handy for a quick rinse.
