Hey everyone! I'm curious about what gardening app you all wish existed but just isn't out there yet. What's that one feature or function that could really transform your gardening experience? It's a bit frustrating, right? There's so much potential for innovative tools, and it feels like we're just waiting for that perfect idea to come to life!

Honestly, I’m not sure an app can improve your gardening skills; it’s such a hands-on activity! I can find everything I need in books or online, without needing someone else to decide what’s important. Sure, sensors could be useful - like for monitoring pH and moisture - but those could get pricey! My sprinkler app helps with weather data, but beyond that, it’s all about being in the dirt, right?

I think a comprehensive plant guide would be amazing! It’s tough to remember all the specifics like ‘fertilize this every 3 months’ or ‘don’t let your okra grow over 4 inches for the best texture.’ An app that allows you to input what you have planted and gives you a clear overview of what to look out for, without endless scrolling through articles or threads, would be a game changer. Also, a layout planner for figuring plant spacing in raised beds would be super helpful. I’m sure something like that existed years ago, but where did it go?

I’d definitely like an app that helps diagnose pests and diseases better. I use Picture This, but it often just says vague stuff like ‘over watered’ or ‘under watered,’ which isn’t very helpful. Consolidating information from universities with detailed images into one app would be incredible! Plus, a seedling identifier would save me from those unlabelled seedlings that pop up every year!
