What’s the Best Budget Solar Setup for Off-Grid Living?

Hey everyone! My electric company says I'm using about 40-50 kWh a day for my 3-bedroom house, but I'm about to transition to living full-time in my camper. Ideally, I want to reduce my usage to around 25-30 kWh a day. I'm thinking about starting with a 6000-watt solar system, with plans to expand it to 12,000 watts in the future for a never-ending power supply. I'm new to all of this, so I'd appreciate any advice or recommendations for a budget-friendly setup!

To match your current usage, you'll need around an 8 kW solar array for summer to hit that 45 kWh target, and possibly a 24 kW array during winter. If you primarily use electricity at night, investing in a larger battery system might be necessary. However, if you get good payouts for feeding power back into the grid, you might not need batteries at all!

I’m aiming to go completely off-grid too. Right now, my electric use is higher because I'm heating my house, but I plan on using propane heat in the camper to cut down on that.
