Struggling with my gym mat and desk chair wheels – any suggestions?

I just replaced my old carpet with a PVC gym mat for my desk chair, and it's actually become more of a hassle than I expected. The wheels on my chair are double-sided silicone and really struggle to move over the mat. It looks great, but I'm constantly pulling myself to the desk, which is getting super annoying. Does anyone have any ideas for what I could coat the mat with to make it slide better?

Honestly, ya might want to consider getting an office chair mat instead. Gym mats are generally too soft and don’t provide a hard surface for the wheels, making it tough to roll. If you really want to stick with the gym mat, some users recommend using a PTFE spray to help it slide easier, but a chair mat is your best bet.

I’m with the others on this one—check out places like Costco or Office Depot for a proper office chair mat. They’re designed to make rolling your chair around way easier and should solve your problem.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll look for office chair mats next time I'm out.
