I recently moved to a suburban area in Ohio, and my neighbor puts out a salt lick for the deer, resulting in 5-10 deer in my yard at a time! ? I'm looking for suggestions on what I can plant in my front flower beds or pots this spring that deer are likely to avoid, or at least will have a fighting chance against them.

From my experience, deer tend to munch on just about anything when they're hungry. I've had issues with them going after my rhododendrons, hostas, and tulips. They even climbed onto my porch for a better snack! You might have better luck with plants like ninebark shrubs or mugo pines since they're usually left alone. Some people also find that they stay away from wormwood and butterfly weed too, but be warned, hostas are typically a favorite!

You're definitely right about hostas—they're like a buffet for deer!
