What’s the best tool for cutting small branches into coin-sized pieces?

I'm trying to make decorative wooden coins and other crafts, and I work with small pieces of wood like branches or driftwood no longer than 12 inches. Using a small saw has been really time-consuming, so I'm on the lookout for a beginner-friendly tool that can help me slice branches into many pieces quickly and efficiently. Any suggestions? Thanks!

A reciprocating saw is a great, budget-friendly option! It's handheld, so you don’t need a lot of space. Just make sure you secure your wood before cutting. It’ll definitely make your task easier. You can find affordable ones at places like Harbor Freight. Also, a small bandsaw is great, but remember to work slowly and safely, especially with round branches to avoid any accidents. Check out a ryoba saw too for more precision if you're comfortable with hand tools.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll look into the bandsaw and the ryoba.

If you're considering power tools, a miter saw could really speed things up for you! Just be cautious about kickback and ensure you have a good setup before you start.

Have you thought about getting a bandsaw? They have a thin kerf and tend to be pretty safe for cutting, which makes them a good choice for beginners. You can find several options at varying prices too!
