Why Is My Toilet Water Supply Tap Still Dribbling After Removal?

I just had to remove my toilet to get new flooring laid, but now the toilet water supply tap won't stop dripping. I've turned off the main water supply, and all the taps in the house are open, but there's still this annoying trickle coming from the supply tap. It's been 45 minutes, and I'm worried it's going to flood my bathroom by morning! Anyone have any tips on how to stop this?

To help speed up the draining, try opening both upper and lower faucets in your house. This allows air to enter the pipes and can help gravity pull the water out faster. You can also open a spigot outside if it’s available. The key is to relieve pressure and let it drain out effectively.

It sounds like your supply valve might be failing. Make sure to shut off any additional valves that might control the bathroom—there’s usually one just for that area. If you can't find it, you could try putting a bucket under the tap and turning it on just to see if it helps drain out the pipe. But if the dripping continues, replacing that tap might be necessary when you put the toilet back in.

I did that already, but the dripping is still happening even after an hour!
