I've been struggling with cats invading my garden, and it's become quite a hassle. They keep messing in the area where my kids play, which is really concerning. I've tried using an ultrasonic cat deterrent, but it hasn't helped at all. I don't want to rely on things like lemons or coffee grounds since that's not practical for the long term. We have high fences, but that hasn't stopped them either. I'm really hoping to find some effective solutions to keep these cats away!

Have you considered getting a dog? They're great at chasing away unwanted animals, including cats. Plus, it could be a fun addition to your family if you have the space and time for a pet!
How about setting up a sprinkler? Cats generally dislike water, so if you catch them in the act, turning on the sprinkler might be enough to scare them away. It may take a few tries, but they'll usually get the hint after a while. A super soaker water pistol from the window can also work in a pinch!
Using small bamboo canes can be effective. Stick them in the ground to make it uncomfortable for the cats to settle in your garden. It might look a bit messy, especially with kids around, but it's worth a shot. Also, you could try holly or mahonia clippings; those are pretty good deterrents too.

That's a solid idea! Just make sure the bamboo canes aren't too sharp for the kids.
