I recently did some cleaning in my sink and accidentally pushed the drain cap down, and now it's stuck there. I managed to unscrew the cap itself, but the actual mechanism is still jammed down. I've tried to pull it back up using pliers, but it won't budge. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?

It sounds frustrating! Since the drain cap is moved by hand to open and close, check if there’s any visible debris or buildup around the mechanism that might be causing it to stick. Sometimes a bit of lubricant can help loosen it up too. Just be careful not to use too much, or it might make things slippery! Let us know if that works!

Good call on the lubricant! I had a similar issue and a little silicone grease did the trick for me. Just make sure you clean off any gunk first.
