Hey everyone! My husband and I just finished up some work on our attic, where our contractors installed baffles and an attic fan. The fan is supposed to vent up through the roof, but they somehow drywalled over the fan itself. We're really puzzled by this because it seems like a mistake, especially since it's getting humid up there. We asked our contractors to cut out the drywall over the fan and put a vent cover instead. Does that sound like the right move? Here's a link to some pictures we took for better clarity: https://imgur.com/a/1yLFK2j.

Yeah, definitely needs to have that fan opening cut out! If they covered any extra venting, that should be uncovered too to prevent moisture buildup.
It sounds like they might have just forgotten to cut the opening for the fan after drywalling. It could be that the person responsible for cutting other openings didn't realize there was a fan to consider too. Sharing a picture would really help others understand better!

What exactly do you mean by 'completed our attic'? Did you turn it into a living space or just insulate it? More details could really help clarify this situation.

Thanks for the advice! They did install a roof vent, but it’s just odd that they suggested this without mentioning it. Gotta admit it feels strange.
