Hey everyone! I just moved into this new apartment and I'm trying to get my air conditioner set up. I've got a small 8000 BTU window unit, but the window is super tricky. It has this annoying lip at the bottom that means the AC can't sit flat, and the outside sill looks all rotten, so I can't use a regular support bracket. The edges of the frame are too thin for the no-drill brackets as well—I really think they would just break off. Right now, I'm thinking about building some complicated wooden support, but if anyone has a simpler solution, I'd really appreciate the help! Thanks a bunch!

If you could post a picture, that might help! Sometimes seeing the setup gives better ideas. Also, it sounds like the outer sill might just need a quick fix before any AC can sit properly.
Have you thought about asking your landlord to fix the rotted sill? They might be able to sort it out, it can’t hurt to check!
I should, but they're super hard to get in touch with, and I don’t want to wait weeks for them to get back to me.
I’ve used no-drill brackets before, but if the edges of your frame are thin, they might not hold up well. Just be careful if you go that route; you don’t want your AC to drop!

Here’s a pic! [Check it out here](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/892612101816848384/1392990895154139256/image0.jpg?ex=68718b5d&is=687039dd&hm=72eaa1c2bb40d3bea63ed68d313f4b984989a24f087b4893d8b5bac424dd64d4&=&format=webp&width=648&height=864). The outer sill has this thin plastic layer over some pretty rotten wood.
