I own a charming 1920s farmhouse with beautiful original single-pane windows that are unfortunately in really rough shape. Most of them need reglazing—around 6 panes per window for 16 windows, plus a big 32-pane picture window. While they're stunning, they bring a lot of headaches too! I recently met with Pella for a consultation, but I found their options rather unattractive, even their best ones. Are most window companies offering similar products? Should I keep searching?

Have you considered restoring your current windows instead of replacing them? High-quality modern windows can be shockingly overpriced, so it might be worth finding someone who can give you a second opinion on the restoration process.
You should definitely check out Marvin! I often sell their windows for historical homes and they’re solid. While Pella isn’t terrible, I noticed their top-tier options have cheaper materials and tend to get quality complaints. Marvin Elevate line is especially impressive because of its fiberglass exterior and wood interior, and I’ve never had issues with that window.
Honestly, Pella, Marvin, and Anderson can be a bit overpriced; however, Marvin Essentials offer a decent balance of quality and price. I had a good experience with OKNA. If vinyl works for you, their performance scores are exceptional and the costs are way lower than the others. I’m glad I chose them over Marvin for my home.
