Hey everyone! I'm based in Western North Carolina and I'm considering buying around 10 kW of solar panels and batteries. I'm trying to figure out if now is a good time to purchase them or if I should wait a year. I've heard mixed opinions on pricing and availability, especially with federal tax credits about to end. Any advice on whether prices are likely to change much in the next year? Thanks a lot!

I recently bought my 10kW setup directly from a supplier in China. It was a great experience! I got 15 panels for around $4,500, plus a 30kWh battery for $3,600. Everything was delivered in great condition and the system's been running smoothly since then.
Since you're near Athens TN, I'd suggest checking out some local suppliers. I recently bought 705 watt Canadian Solar panels for $165 each if you buy in bulk. They're huge but offer a great deal! For batteries, a 30 kWh one costs around $2550 from Docan Power, but you would need to pick it up. The value is great if you're looking for backup power.
It really depends on where you buy. I've found great prices locally (like from SanTan Solar), and their panel prices haven't fluctuated much. Just keep in mind that federal tax credits are ending soon, which might push prices up later. If you need them now, I'd recommend buying now!
It's always a good time to buy solar panels and batteries if you plan to install them soon. I've been picking up panels to avoid any surprises with pricing changes later. If you're ready to use them right away, I'd say go for it!
Honestly, if you're buying panels sensibly at 10-15 cents per watt, it shouldn't matter much in the long run. The savings you get from using the system now will likely outweigh any tariff differences!
Exactly! The immediate savings from energy costs can make a big difference.

Thanks for that tip! Sounds like a good deal on those panels!
