I'm looking to remove a central column in my home and replace the current 2x12 support beams with LVL or glulam beams. The total span that needs support is 12 feet. Would using two 2x12 beams that are 14 feet long be sufficient for this opening?

I personally used three 2x12 beams to span 14 feet, and they handled the weight just fine, even with additional joists attached. I think you'll be okay with your plan unless there's a significant load from above, like if you had a second floor.
It's really important to consult with an engineer for this kind of structural work just to be safe! They'll provide the best advice based on the loads involved.
No second floor for me, just roof trusses up there, so that should make things easier!
