I'm looking to fill some gaps in my garden, and with heatwaves expected to go above 30 degrees, I'm curious about what plants can withstand such temperatures. Has anyone had success with specific plants that can thrive despite the heat?

I've been trying to find heat-resistant plants on my super exposed rooftop, and after losing a few, here are my recommendations:
- Buddleia (seriously, it can handle the heat!)
- Heather
- Thyme
- Rosemary
- Magnolias (but be sure to protect them while they grow)
- Some hardy grasses
- UK-friendly palms (there are actually a few good ones)
- Poppies
- Potatoes
- Parsley
Just a heads up, I wouldn't try horseradish though; it didn't work out for me!
In the ground and not under pots, I've found some plants that are thriving without much water this season:
- Salvia
- Lavender
- Verbena Bonariensis
- Crocosmia
- Day Lily
- Rosemary
For shadier spots that still get hot, consider:
- Hostas
- Foxgloves
Also, if fruits interest you, my redcurrant and blackcurrant bushes are producing like crazy this year!
I've had great luck with hyssop! I don't water it daily and it still flourishes in the sun until around 2 PM. Plus, the bees absolutely love it and it smells amazing when you brush past!
