How Can I Insulate My Garage and Add HVAC for a Home Gym?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to improve my two-car garage in Wake Forest, NC, and need some advice. I'm interested in fully insulating the garage (I'm flexible on insulation types as long as they're cost-effective), sealing the garage door, and adding heating and cooling options for the space. I plan to use it as a partial home gym and entertainment area with a pool table. If anyone has recommendations for contractors or tips on how to handle this project, I'd really appreciate it!

Have you considered tackling this project yourself? It might seem overwhelming, but there are plenty of online guides and resources that can show you how to do it. Plus, DIY can save you a lot of money!

Thank you! I’ll look into some how-to tips. It does feel a bit daunting, but I'm willing to give it a shot!

Just a quick heads up: insulating your garage and adding HVAC could violate local building codes. It's a good idea to check the regulations in your area. That might explain why you're having trouble finding contractors to take on the job.

Have you tried posting in your local community Facebook groups? That could connect you with contractors who are familiar with the area, as this type of question might get more traction there than here.
