Should I be concerned if my foam boards aren’t flush against the basement wall?

I'm currently insulating my basement using 2-inch foam boards, but I'm having an issue where the middle parts of the boards are not making full contact with the concrete wall because they seem a bit bowed. I'm wondering if this is something I should be worried about or just a minor annoyance. My plan is to keep moving forward, frame the walls, and see if pushing the walls against the boards will work. If not, I might consider running a plastic tap through the middle of the boards. What do you think? Is it a problem if the foam boards aren't fully adhered to the wall?

I experimented with various gluing methods and ran into the same issue. My current approach is to tighten the walls against the foam; if it still bothers me later, I’m considering a plastic tap down the center. Just trying to figure out if this needs fixing or if I can let it slide.

I found cutting the foam boards into smaller pieces helped with aligning them against wall imperfections. After that, I sealed the boards using spray foam. It can help fill in any gaps!

I've faced the same situation in my basement. What I did was snug the studs right up to the boards. It worked fine for me! Just make sure you're applying enough adhesive—try making an X with the glue and adding some dots on the sides to ensure a solid bond.
