What Type of Shut Off Switch Should I Choose for My Inverter System?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to decide on the right shut off switch for my 7.2kW Enphase inverter setup, which needs 40A breakers. Can I go with a non-fused switch rated for a higher amperage for the AC shut off? I found this one: https://www.grainger.com/product/SIEMENS-Safety-Switch-Non-Fusible-55CH42. Would a fused switch be a better choice? If the options I'm considering won't work, I'd love to hear your suggestions or experiences with switches you've used.

What exactly are you planning to disconnect with that switch? Just curious!

This is the code-required disconnect between the breaker box and the subpanel. I need it to de-energize the system for safety, like for firefighters. Since it’s an AC system, I think just a switch will do.

That switch you found should work just fine! The breakers will manage the current for you, so there's no need for fuses with that 60A disconnect. Your equipment will be safe and sound.

Thanks for confirming!
