Is This Interior Painting Quote Too High?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on a quote I received for painting the interior of my 1,300 sq ft home in Connecticut. Here's the breakdown:

- Kitchen cabinets: $3,500
- Main floor painting with ceilings: $9,500
- Main floor painting without ceilings: $7,800
- Basement: $1,500

These prices seem a bit outrageous to me, but I'd love to know if I'm being unreasonable. I can't paint it myself, so I'm trying to figure out if this quote is fair.

Honestly, the prices might depend on where you live in CT. For a 1,300 sq ft house, your prices do seem a bit high, especially considering I paid around that for a much larger home and more extensive work. I’d recommend checking out local groups for recommendations, too!

Thanks! I'll definitely look into getting a few more quotes and see what others in my area are suggesting.

You might want to consider what type of paint they're using, how much prep work is needed, and the condition of your walls. If it’s just a simple repaint with standard paint like Benjamin Moore, the prices might still seem a tad high. Asking for clarification on all that could help you gauge whether the quote is worth it.

It'd be a good idea to get a few more quotes before deciding. Prices can vary quite a bit depending on the area and contractor. You might find a better deal somewhere else!
