Hey folks, I'm having a frustrating problem with a ceiling fan in my new house. We bought the place only to discover later that the ceiling fan makes this awful whirring sound. I've already replaced it, but the noise hasn't gone away. I even tried swapping wires, but no luck there either. It sounds like an MRI machine! If anyone has suggestions, I'd really appreciate your help. I do have a video to share if needed, but I can't attach it here.

Consider looking for fans with a brushless DC motor—sometimes listed as BLDC. They tend to be much quieter when properly installed on a ceiling box designed for fans.
Finding a decent ceiling fan can be such a pain! I've gone through several myself, and it's always something. I had three identical fans, and one of them ended up buzzing like crazy! Sometimes changing the fan direction helps a bit. Honestly, it feels like they just don’t make them well anymore.
Have you thought about uploading that video to YouTube as "unlisted" so we can hear the noise? That might help us diagnose it better. Also, you could try reaching out to customer support, especially since you've had this issue with two different brands.
