Hey everyone! I studied electronics during my bachelor's, but due to a crisis in my country at that time, I couldn't get my hands on much equipment, so I only completed a couple of projects and did some programming for a startup that didn't succeed. Now, after a few years in a different field, I'm keen to dive back into electronics and work on some fun projects. However, I'm used to having equipment like oscilloscopes, voltage sources, multimeters, and signal generators available from my university days. I'm looking to set up a mini lab at home on a budget of around $600, since I'll likely be moving countries soon and need compact options. So far, I'm considering getting a soldering station, a voltage source, and an oscilloscope. Any recommendations on smaller, more affordable options? Also, does anyone still use Proteus for simulation, or do you have suggestions for open-source alternatives?

You might want to check out a tablet oscilloscope, which you can find for about $200. They’re not the fanciest, but they do a decent job for basic needs. They're also super portable!

Great tip! Do you have a specific model or brand in mind? I didn't even know those existed, and they sound perfect for my space!
