What’s the Best Time to Use Power Tools on Weekends Without Pissing Off Neighbors?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out a reasonable time to start using my power tools on weekends, especially since I have neighbors nearby. Is 8am too early? What about 9am? I want to be considerate but also get my work done. Any thoughts?

In my area, 9am is the local ordinance for power tools on weekends. I usually get everything set up before then, but I won't fire up any noisy saws until after 9. Just trying to keep the neighbors happy!

It really varies by location. I've heard you should check your local noise ordinances. Here, it's fine to start power tools at 7am during the week, but I'd say stick to 9am on weekends unless you are dealing with an emergency situation. Just communicate with your neighbors if you need to get started earlier!

Right! I’ve learned it’s best to just ask your neighbors beforehand. You’ll be surprised how much leniency they might give you.

Honestly, if you want to be courteous, aim for 10am on Sundays. 9am is okay, but it really depends on your neighbors. If they tend to sleep in, starting earlier might not go over well. I guess it depends on their lifestyle too!

Yeah, 10am is a solid compromise. Plus, I usually hear lawnmowers going around that time, so it feels acceptable!
