I just swapped out my old integrated dishwasher for a new non-integrated model. The problem is that the door of the new dishwasher bumps against the toekick board at the front. With my previous setup, the toekick ran the whole length of the cabinets, but now I'm not sure what to do. Should I notch out the toekick board just enough for the dishwasher door to open, or should I cut the toekick into two pieces and leave the space completely open in front of the dishwasher?

You might have better luck cutting it out entirely. A small notch can look kinda weird and stick out much more than you’d expect. Leaving a clear space might end up looking cleaner in the long run.
I notched mine after screwing it up the first time—trust me, you don’t want a crunching sound while it’s being installed! Honestly, you barely notice it unless you’re practically on the ground. Here’s a pic I posted to show that it doesn’t stand out at all: [link].
