Neighbor’s Drain Work Seems to Have Messed Up Mine – What Can I Do?

Hey everyone! I just moved into a house about six months ago that has a French drain system. Recently, my neighbors started installing their own drainage system, and it looks like their contractor might have damaged my pipes in the process. I tested my backyard drains by running a hose and found water leaking out from some holes and kinks in my system. I'm worried about how to address this issue. Can this type of hose be fixed or replaced without having to dig up my entire system? Here's a link with some pictures of the situation: [https://imgur.com/a/lxQaP2D](https://imgur.com/a/lxQaP2D)

It's tricky to repair something you can't see clearly. Were your neighbors working right in your yard? If your drain runs along the property line, it might be tough to determine where the damage happened. Do you have a property survey that outlines your boundaries? That could help you figure out where things stand.

Regardless of whether it can be fixed without tearing everything out, the onus is on the contractor to restore your drainage to its original state after causing any damage. Make sure to document everything.

Why are they doing work so close to your setup? As for the house in those pictures, is that yours or the neighbor's? It seems like the issues might be right on the property line. You might need to dig deeper to find out who’s responsible.
