Should I Buy a Battery-Powered or Corded Dewalt Angle Grinder?

I'm looking to buy an angle grinder since I currently don't own one. My main use will be cutting stone, but eventually, I'll also need it for metalworking. I've got six 12Ah 54V batteries already. The Dewalt store nearby offers wired models like the DWE4925, DWE4579, and DWE4559, which are up to 2600W. However, the DCG460N cordless model goes up to 3000W at 9000 RPM and costs 386 euros. Given my battery supply, I'm leaning towards the cordless option because it's more convenient and seems more powerful when fully charged. But I can access electricity wherever I plan to use the grinder. So, should I choose a battery-powered grinder or stick with a wired one?

Batteries tend to drain quickly if you’re using the grinder for extended periods, so keep that in mind. While a cordless grinder is more convenient and portable, the added weight from the batteries can be a downside. It’s all about what trade-offs you’re willing to make for your projects.

If you’re only getting one grinder, I'd usually recommend going corded. That said, since you have a good number of batteries, you might want to consider the cordless option. Think about where you'll be using it — if you have reliable access to power, the corded model could be lighter and reduce fatigue during long jobs, but the cordless can offer more flexibility for off-grid work.

I spoke with some welders who always suggest going for corded models since they tend to be more powerful and generally cost less. Grinders can be heavy on battery use, but since you have plenty of batteries, you might not be as affected. I personally have a Bosch grinder and have been very happy with it.
