How to Ground My PC with a Floating Neutral Modified Sine Wave Inverter?

I'm setting up a solar power system to run my PC off-grid and I've installed a 6ft ground rod. The problem is, my modified sine wave inverter doesn't have a ground connector. When I power on my PC, it works fine but I hear a buzzing noise coming from the power supply unit (PSU) and the extension socket. I'm suspecting that I might need to establish a ground connection for the PSU. Should I connect the ground wire directly to the ground rod and wire the two live/neutral cables from the inverter? Any advice would be appreciated!

It's important to consider where you're located because grounding methods can vary significantly by region. You might want to clarify your country for more tailored advice. Just to note, an off-grid setup with components like a 250W panel and a 600W inverter is a good start! If you have specific queries about your system, share more details!

Thanks! I'm using a small off-grid setup, and I'm trying to make sure everything's safe and running smoothly.

The buzzing sound you're hearing is likely caused by the modified sine wave from your inverter rather than a grounding issue. These cheaper inverters produce a stepped square wave that can introduce stress on electronics like your PC's PSU, which is why you're noticing that noise. Grounding might help, but it won't necessarily fix the buzzing problem.
