Hey everyone! I came across a Pinnacle 151 spokeshave on my local Marketplace, but I'm not too familiar with the brand. I did some searching but didn't find much info. What I did find was all positive, with one person even saying it's just a step below Veritas tools. They're sold at Woodcraft for about $149 and feature a stainless body and a Hock iron, which suggests it's a quality tool. There's some confusion about where it's made—some say Canada while others say China. I'm curious if anyone here has used this spokeshave or knows anything about the maker. The one I found looks to be in great shape, and with the Hock iron, it's only $30, which is pretty tempting!

Honestly, even if the spokeshave isn't the best, the Hock blade alone is worth the $30! But who knows, it might turn out to be a good tool after a little use. Trust me, once you start using spokeshaves, you won’t just stop at one – you’ll want a whole bunch!
I've got one of these and really like it! It's sturdy, and the Hock iron is fantastic. I do have a Veritas spokeshave too, which I find a bit more comfortable, but honestly, for $30, you’re getting a steal with the Pinnacle.
If you're looking at a modern screw-adjusted spokeshave, $30 is definitely a bargain! Spokeshaves are pretty straightforward tools. I personally prefer simpler models like the 51 and 63, which you can often find for less. But if you’re sticking with the 151, I'm sure it can perform well; just be ready to play around with it a bit to get it just right!
