Hey everyone! I've got a couple of batteries that aren't jump starting properly. One is a 2AH from 2019 and the other is a 5AH from 2023. The 2AH shows one green bar when I jump it, but it doesn't hold a charge once the jump is off. As for the 5AH, it doesn't show any signs of working at all. After I disconnect the wires, both batteries get pretty warm, which is something I've never experienced before. I could really use some advice on what to do with these! Thanks!

From what you've described, it sounds like both batteries are possibly shorted out. Jump starting might not be the best move for them. I recommend checking if they can even take a charge properly before attempting to jump them again. Best to err on the side of caution here!
It sounds like those batteries might be on their last legs. Have you checked their age and usage history? Batteries can really suffer if they're not maintained properly or if they're left to drain too much. Sometimes jump starting a weak battery can cause more harm than good. Just something to keep in mind!
I'd be super careful with this! If those batteries are heating up too much, you could be risking a short circuit or even a fire. Make sure to check if they’re swollen or leaking, and if so, don’t use them anymore! Definitely look into getting new ones instead of trying to revive them.

I did mention they're not really abused, just used for flashlights at work. Do you think I should just replace them?
