Hey everyone! I just bought a parsley plant from the supermarket on a whim because I've always wanted to grow my own herbs and veggies. I'm looking for a simple starter guide or any resources to help me grow it right. I know I want to focus on the parsley for now, even though I'm interested in possibly growing other things in the future too.
A bit about my situation: I don't have any land to use. I have a covered deck, a small area outside my front door that's shared with my neighbor (that's where I currently placed the plant), and a tiny patio that isn't covered and has no dirt. The deck gets southern sunlight, while the outside area and patio face north and northeast. I could potentially add dirt to the patio since it's a few feet below ground level, but I'm unsure if that's a good idea. Also, I live in a place with a lot of animal visitors like rabbits, deer (though not seen in my area), groundhogs, and various birds. Any tips you have would be greatly appreciated!

You can definitely grow parsley in a pot! Just make sure it’s not too small—something like a medium-sized flower pot should work well. It doesn’t need constant sunlight, but aim for a few hours of sun each day. That’ll help it thrive!
I personally grow parsley in a pot too! I just water mine when it starts to droop, and it seems to do well. Make sure you give it enough light and water regularly without overdoing it!
Look into Earthbox as a gardening solution. They have a simple setup that's great for beginners and perfect if you don’t want to spend too much time maintaining it. It could help you get started with your parsley without too much fuss!

I'm using a ceramic bowl for my parsley right now. It seems small, should I switch to a bigger pot?
