Hey everyone! I'm dealing with a heavy object weighing between 200 and 250 lbs that I need to lift to a counter height of 36 inches. I'm not as young as I used to be, and I'm really trying to avoid any back injuries, especially since my friends and I can't just muscle through it like in our younger days. The counter is reinforced, so I know it can handle the weight, but I need some creative solutions for lifting it without risking our backs. I don't think an appliance strap is suitable for this, and since we only have room for two of us in the corner where it needs to go, I want to make sure we do this safely. Any tips or tools you recommend?

Check out local rental places for a cabinet lift! They’re often available and can handle this kind of weight easily. I found one at Home Depot for about $60 for four hours—it’s totally worth it if you don't want to risk injury!
You could try tipping the object onto the counter so one end rests on it, then lift the other end. Once it's supported, just slide it into place. If there's not enough space for that, building a few cribbing blocks to incrementally lift it might also work, but that could take time and effort.
That would be tricky with the built-in setup! It sounds like straight lifting is the way to go.
How about using an engine hoist? They’re pretty affordable and can lift up to a ton. Just make sure the area is spacious enough. If the hoist is about 5 feet tall, it might be a tight fit though. But it could be your best one-man solution!
I think you're right! That was my first thought too—definitely a solid pick for this kind of job.
Yes! If it fits, it’s a cheap and effective way to lift heavy stuff!

That sounds like a great plan! I didn't even think about renting equipment. Thanks for the tip!
