Hey everyone! I'm planning to grow some Roma tomatoes (or similar varieties) for making my own salsa and sauce. I'm really limited on space and want to train them to grow vertically. I've been making these dishes for a while and want to stop buying tomatoes from the store. My main question is about spacing: how far apart should I plant them? All I can find is info on their mature spread, which doesn't seem to help much when I want to grow them vertically. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

More dirt space equals better results! For hybrids, you'll get the most yield. When growing vertically, consider your growing medium and the size of your space for optimal results.
If you learn better through videos, check out Kevin from Epic Gardening. He has some great tips on tomato trellising techniques. When I grow mine vertically, I usually space them about 1 to 1.5 feet apart and keep it to a single stem by pruning. It works great!
Always follow the guidelines on your seed packets or labels on pre-grown plants. Tomatoes need full sun, so make sure they get 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. For spacing, aim for at least 12 inches apart, but 18 inches is safer. There are tons of videos online to help you with tomato growing tips!
