I'm curious if someone with some experience in building things can actually create a skateboard from the ground up. Is this a realistic project? I'm particularly interested in whether making the board itself is doable and what the challenges might be, especially if I'm planning to buy the wheels separately.

Totally depends on what you mean by 'skateboard.' If you're talking about just the wooden board, that's actually pretty doable! Plenty of DIYers have made their own decks, and it's not as impossible as it sounds. However, if you want to make the wheels and bearings too, that's a whole different story. That part gets pretty complex for sure.

That's a great approach! You'll find a lot of guides on DIY skateboard deck bending too.
