Hey folks! I've been using Milwaukee tools for a while now, but I recently started working with a fantastic Mac Tools rep who has really impressed me. I've decided to switch things up a bit and I'm bringing my Dewalt tools home for personal projects while considering some Mac models for the shop. Right now, my rep has a few cordless 1/2" impacts: the DCF899, DCF900, and DCF961. As a heavy diesel tech for Caterpillar, I'm on the lookout for a reliable cordless impact to use as a backup in the shop and for field calls. I frequently use air tools, so I'm curious about your experiences and any reviews you might have on these specific impacts. I appreciate your help!

The DCF899 is the older model compared to the 900. If I had to pick one, I’d go for the 900; it’s plenty powerful for what you need. The DCF961 could be overkill unless you have heavy-duty jobs. Plus, it’s a bit on the heavier side, so you might find the 900 more manageable.
I've been using one of the MAC 1/2" impacts along with a DeWalt 8AH battery, and it’s a powerhouse! It handles lug nuts on my Sierra 3500HD like a champ, but be careful with that power. I've accidentally snapped some hefty bolts with it!
Wow, that's some serious power! I’ll be cautious and use it accordingly.
If you're in heavy diesel tech, I'd recommend checking out the DCF900 or the DCF961. Just a heads up, the 961 can be a bit temperamental; it really wants you to use the various settings, or it might not perform well. Just keep that in mind!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll give the 900 a solid look since that one packs a lot of punch.

Got it! I think the 900 might be the way to go for me.
